Compass vs. XUV500 vs. Innova Crysta

The variants of each vehicle have been selected climbing from the base to a trim level that offers almost all of the basic must-haves that everyone desires & expects in a car of this segment including keyless entry, dual front air bags as a minimum, rear parking aid, automatic climate control, fog lamps & an engine displacement less than 2000cc in case of a diesel motor, owing to the recent bans on diesel cars above 2000cc in Delhi.
Verdict:-
As can be seen from the above comparison chart, the choice of a buyer out for a full size SUV/MPV in the 15-20L range in India ultimately boils down to the buyer’s priorities as follows:-
  • If you have a small family & don’t necessarily require those extra few seats, living in or at least near a major city, and don’t mind shelling out a few extra bucks for a powerful vehicle from a premium brand with excellent on-road & off-road capability, then your obvious choice should be the è Jeep Compass
  • If you are practical out for the most utilitarian buy with maximum features offered at the lowest price, and don’t particularly mind a dated design, your choice should be the è Mahindra XUV500
  • If you want to accommodate a large no. of people comfortably & a gas guzzler doesn’t bother you, neither is a feature laden car your priority nor is off-roading of particular concern, go for the è Toyota Innova Crysta
